Mango Jalapeno Margarita

The countdown is on. Under four short weeks until we disappear for a bit, shooting a destination wedding and enjoying some vacation time together after that. The first week will be busy preparing and shooting the wedding plus a few other events they have planned. As for week two, it should be filled with excursions and picture making and too many margaritas. Just like that. Not like this one though.

I have made my share of drinks over the years. I can’t even take a reasonable guess, but I could safely assume it’s over a million. All those years working the bar plus outside events, it all adds up quickly. During that time I have poured the standard mixes and my fair share of original tried and tested concoctions, but never this one.

Margaritas are insanely popular fair-weather drinks and go hand-in-hand with warm weather and beaches and over the years people have mixed and matched the flavours to come up with sweet and sour variations. Although the standard lime margarita is still incredibly good and popular, changing it up from time to time is also nice. In the past I have made spicy margaritas and sweet ones, so this is just a good combination of the two.

Believe me, it’s good. I can’t divulge the recipe yet, but for two similar recipes check out these links here¬†and here. You can just imagine how thirst quenching it will be for a hot summer day approaching. But good luck just making one!

Sorry for the shorter than usual post, a lot going on here as we gear up for the big trip and various shoots beforehand. I’ll try and be a bit more frequent until then!

From my kitchen to yours,

Michael

Oh, your margaritas are so pretty! I recently posted a serrano pineapple and cilantro tequila cocktail (that’s a mouthful!). Love spicy-sweet drinks!

Looks yummy! I will have to try this version. I made jalapeno margaritas last summer as well: http://lachapstickfanatique.blogspot.com/2011/07/jalapeno-infused-margarita.html

This drink really intrigues me! I love the incredible brightness and vibrancy to it, and of course it sounds really interesting. Gorgeous images (as always, my friend), and I especially love the 3rd & 4th.

A little sweetness and a little spice – that sounds like a recipe for a very drinkable margarita. It sounds as though you have a fantastic trip planned. You deserve it, Mike!

Jalepenos in Margharita is such an unique concept. I did check out those links which you have mentioned in this post and both of those drinks sounded fabulous! I loved your photography…could not be any better!
